Nine years coaching people through the space physio alone doesn't cover — whether you're still working with a physiotherapist or have just been cleared. Structured, rehab-informed strength coaching that turns recovery into real, lasting capability.
With nine years spent coaching in private gyms, commercial settings, and sport performance programs, Khai has built a coaching style shaped by biomechanics, mobility, and rehab-informed training. He currently works inside a private gym alongside physiotherapists, helping clients stay on track with their prescribed program — understanding the reasoning behind it, correcting form, and progressing in the weeks between appointments — whether they're still under a physiotherapist's care or have recently been discharged. That in-between space is exactly where most programs fall short. And whether you're rehabbing, chasing performance, or simply after strength that lasts, the coaching is the same: clear, precise, and built around you.
Physio gives you the program. What happens after is where it usually falls apart — the exercises get fuzzy, the reasoning behind them gets lost, and the weeks between appointments turn into weeks without progress. That's the space this coaching is built for.
You leave the clinic with a program, but a week later you're not sure how to do it, how often, or whether you're still doing it right.
Without understanding why an exercise is actually in your program, it's hard to stay motivated to keep doing it.
You're doing the work, but only seeing your physio every few weeks means nobody's watching your form or pushing your progress in between.
Even outside rehab, showing up without a plan, feedback, or accountability makes functional, sustainable strength hard to build alone.
Strength training can't promise you'll never get hurt again — nothing can. But it isn't guesswork either. Sport science research consistently shows that a previous injury meaningfully raises the risk of a future one, which is exactly why targeted, ongoing strength work — during rehab and long after it — is one of the few things shown to help keep that risk down.
"Previous injury is a strong risk factor for recurrent lower limb injury in athletic populations."
Khai spends his week working alongside physiotherapists — not replacing the program, but making sure it actually happens. That means helping clients remember how and how often to do their prescribed exercises, understand why each one matters, correct form in real time, and keep training and progressing in the weeks between physio appointments, instead of stalling while they wait for the next one.
Real feedback from clients training through injury history, building strength, and learning to trust their bodies again.
Every session is encouraging, positive, and fun, and I always leave feeling physically great. I've built better habits, more confidence through education, and a noticeable increase in strength since training with Khai. His attention to detail, safe progressions, and clear explanation of technique, exercise, and mind-muscle connection really set him apart.
Ivana S.Getting back into the gym felt a lot easier with Khai's support, especially as he respected my previous injuries while still helping me get stronger through them. The sessions are hard work, but I always leave exhausted, happy, and glad I came. He knows how to work around injuries without losing sight of progress, which makes the training feel smart and effective.
Mike R.Structure, commitment, strength, consistency, and variety are all part of what I've gained training with Khai. He is encouraging and supportive, with a great balance of attention to detail and rest. I feel more aware of my body and more confident in my progress after every session.
Fleur G.Khai has helped improve my fitness, strength, agility, mobility, and confidence around musculoskeletal niggles. Every session is challenging, but I never feel crippled by soreness afterwards, which makes the training sustainable. He is particular, targeted, and excellent at tracking progress, correcting form, and keeping the program aligned with my goals.
Ian A.Confidence in progression, trust in my body, and a much better understanding of my own limitations and abilities have all come from working with Khai. His knowledge, dedication, and positive energy make every session educational and motivating. He has a real ability to understand the client, give his best, and build self-efficacy over time.
Ann D.When I found Khai one year post-surgery at age 73, I could hardly walk with pain in my knees, hips, and back. Under his skillful and sensitive care I'm now in the best shape I've been in twenty years and am fully active again.
Brenda B.Author & Film ProducerKhai assisted in rehabilitating my shoulder coming back from injury, as well as improving my range of motion in almost all of my joints. He decreased cramping in my foot arches, and assisted in rehabilitating my knee post-surgery, as well as associated areas such as my quad and hip.
